The 18th Riddle

The Challenge of the Eighteenth Riddle

Introductory Notes:

In 1969 - 1970, my original research team tackled the problem of creating a

"unique" -- and original-- symbolic art-form that could be used to

re-introduce FIVE "positive human values " to both

children and adults -- all over the world

( regardless of language ).

The "values" selected were:

Thoughtfulness - - Sharing - - Truthfulness - - Understanding - - and Respect

One member of the original "research team" (an amateur mathematician) came up

with a little "shape" ---- as basic as the "square" ---- which (he claimed) has no

known association with any "formalized symbology" -- and has no

"negative" associative connotations as an art-form or artifact.

An integral part of a "geometric family" -- known (since the days of Pythagoras) as

the "golden forms" -- this little shape was, instantly, "dubbed" -----

the Golden Trapezoid; and, at this point, things started

to get (REALLY) interesting.

YES !!!! I Know !!!

This is NOT of universal interest to all --

BUT ----- for the few, this is "fas-cin-a-ting" !!!!!

Which is why "most info" has been EXCLUDED here --

for "visitors" -- but is INCLUDED in the

( to each his own )
