On the "Key to Happiness". . . . .
There is a word in Webster's
that's called "appreciation".
Its "meaning" always connotes
a mental "excitation".
![]()
But, there is yet another "word
which everyone should treasure,
For it's the one that blossoms forth
when one "appreciates a Pleasure".
![]()
Of course, a "pleasure" may be any-thing
in the range of A through Z;
'Cause it's "different strokes" for different folks
(both in "kind" AND in "degree").
![]()
As to the search for "different" pleasures
(which has so many on the run),
Some INSIST we've "missed the boat"
by not joining in the fun.
![]()
BUT ----- as one pursues exotic "wants"
(and this becomes a "way of life"),
The thought: "YOU have -- while I have not"
is sufficient cause for strife.
![]()
SO, (we think) the "quest of pleasure"
is NOT the thought to stress, when
Appreciating pleasures one has NOW
is a "key" to HAPPINESS !!!.

My turn ?? (to add some comments???)
IF appreciating pleasures one has now
is a "key" to Happiness -----
then might it also be said, appreciating
pleasures that one HAS NOT --
is a "key" to UN-Happiness ???
![]()
There is also a "neat twist" to all of the above (IF one "appreciates" such
things). I'm going to leave it up to YOU to figure out the logic sequence
relative to "non-pleasures".
![]()
( final comment )
One's own creative potential
-- and the "dreams"
that one
can create as a result of that "potential" --
are two of a Special Person's
greatest "treasures".
![]()
"Appreciation" of these "treasures" is a "key" to the
"degree of happiness"
experienced by each individual during the course of living.
