On "Peace" vs. "Harmony"

vs.
When the "Todesrune" did come to be
encased within "infinity",
the "witch's-foot" (the "death of Man")
soon cast its shadow across our land.
![]()
Then, with this banner held on high,
vast numbers raised a hue and cry -----
"PEACE", they claimed, "is number ONE
of all the things that should be won!"
![]()
But ----- "peace" describes an "absence of -----"
ALL "turmoil" ----- (so, where is "love"???).
And ----- in total "absence of . . . . . " would birds still sing ???
(would there even be the storms of Spring???)
![]()
So, "peace", itself, is just a "word" --
(regardless of how often heard).
It tells NOT "how" to stop our wars;
nor, "how" to end Man's other horrors.
![]()
Now, in the annals of past "time" --
(and, as it's used within this rhyme)
the number NINE -- symbolically --
describes the concept ----- HARMONY !
![]()
While this is, also, a "semantic form",
it tells "of the plan" that is Nature's "norm".
In Life, each "part" has a separate role -----
yet, together, they form an aesthetic "whole".
![]()
NINE tells of "how" to end Man's
screams .....
of "how" Mankind can achieve its dreams.
And, rather than an "absence of . . . . . . . . . "
this word implies Life filled with "Love".
![]()
SO ----- IF "peace on Earth" IS a
fallacy --
and, what is needed is HARMONY --
let's change Man's numbers 'til they become
where ONE is NINE ----- and NINE is "won" !

COMMENTARY
For thousands of years -- in many cultures throughout the world -- the position of a human being,
standing upright with head thrown back and arms stretched upward (at an angle),
symbolized "joy" -- "supplication (to a higher being)" -- and/or "fertility".
Hence,
sticks -- with branches extending upward (at an angle) --
were "planted" in fields that were fertile.
![]()
In like kind -- when a field became "non-fertile" -- the same symbol was turned upside-down.
![]()
Eventually, this "upside-down" symbol came into common use
to indicate any place of "death" -- or "place to be avoided".
![]()
During the time of early Christianity, Nero crucified Saint Peter
outside the gates of Rome on an "upside-down cross" ----- which also
became known as the "broken cross" -- and the "sign of the Anti-Christ".
![]()
During the Dark Ages, this "broken cross" became known as the "witch's-foot" -- and, also,
was used (with a surrounding circle) as the "eyes of Satan" in Medieval art forms.
![]()
During the days of the Crusades, this symbol was used on the "banners"
of those going off to fight their "Holy (?) Wars" in the Middle East.
![]()
During the Spanish Inquisition, "heretics" were branded with this symbol.
![]()
This "upside-down" symbol, also, became known as the "Todesrune"
-- or "death sign" -- among Germanic tribes.
![]()
During World War II, the Gestapo used this symbol on its "death notices".
![]()
In modern times this symbol is often used by, self-styled "anarchists", "terrorists", and "militant activists".
![]()
Etc., etc., and etc. ----- (negative enough ???)
![]()
![]()
SO ----- where in the world did the modern "Peace Symbol" originate?
There are several "stories" -- with the one below from the 1960s.
( Look up the other stories on the Internet and take your pick ?)
![]()
ONE "story" is -- it was created in February, 1958, by Sir Bertrand Russell, in response to a request
by the organizers of the Aldermaston Easter Peace March -- an "activist-type" demonstration
which was encouraging unilateral nuclear disarmament. Specifically, the organizers
wanted an art-form that could become known as the "Peace
Symbol".
![]()
Bertrand Russell (
reportedly ) was intrigued by the request -- but, in addition to being a
world-renowned mathematician-philosopher, he was ( reportedly ) also a bit of a
cynic. As he ( reportedly ) did not believe that humankind would survive the
invention of atomic power, he took the "Todesrune", encased it in
a
circle ( representing infinity ) -- and presented it to the world as
"The Peace Symbol".
![]()
NOW -----
IF in fact -- Sir Bertrand Russell had "anything" whatsoever to do with this particular
design --it would appear that he failed (?) to tell anyone else that this
symbol
-- in addition to any other claim -- such as the semaphore sign for ND) --
classically symbolizes (and with a solid historical symbolic base) :
"the
death of Man -- forever"
TOTAL "peace" for all humankind
(resulting from "atomic annihilation"?).

![]()
One interesting fact about this "artistic creation" is that it was never copyrighted.
Thus, over the next 20 years, many "entrepreneurs" created innumerable
artifacts displaying this art-form in order to generate "sales". It is said
that, during this 20 year period, commercial exploitation of the
"Peace Symbol" exceeded 2 billion dollars (US).
Having a more positive outlook for the future of human kind, MY research "team" decided
to create a symbol to express an "alternate perspective". The result of
their work ,
was a totally unique, synergistic, art-form which effectively describes the
"essence of Harmony" as being a just adaptation of parts in such a
manner as to form a connected, aesthetically pleasing, whole
WITHOUT the "parts" losing their individual identity.
(a description matching the dictionary definition of the word)
NOW ----- "you" get to an opportunity to decide, for yourself, whether (or not)
AHLEC's Harmony Symbol deserves being brought into world-view.
And, the "symbolic base"?? -- It begins with people of Good Will using their "Magic Pennies" of
Thoughtfulness -- Sharing -- Truthfulness -- Understanding -- and Respect -- to create
a basis for mutual TRUST -- (a precursor to the existence of "Harmony" ??).

AND -- Because it is not presented anywhere else in AHLEC's Journey
-- ( IN THEORY) --
YOU could be the first ( here ) to be "told" one of this website's "secrets",
to wit:
EVERY little "golden trapezoid" will tell you what "value" it represents
IF you will just hold your "mouse" over it for a few seconds.
( note: this only works if your browser will display "alt" text via mouse hover )
( for such as Firefox, "right click" on the image then click "properties" )

Are your having any "fun" yet??? -- IF so ----- please continue your journey
(because there are "hidden surprises" throughout my website)
