On "Nature's rule" . . . . .
When two (or more) are made to share an environmental "system",
And those within haven't way or means to leave of their volition,
Should one want what the other has -- and there is no place to hide --
A basic conflict MUST result, which the "system" can't abide.

As each tries hard to dominate -- to make the other lose the fight --
Conditions, for both, deteriorate -- as they struggle without respite.
The "ending" to this story has two alternatives ---------
One MUST "adapt" -- or, one MUST "die" -- IF the "system" is to live.

Now -- down we go, this classic path, to a nasty situation:
What happens when six billion? (plus) engage in confrontation??
Our Earth is like a "space-ship" that holds a Man-made horde;
And, its limited resources form a "Damoclean sword".

Supposedly, our species has the factor of "free-will";
Yet, from the time we're children, most play "King-of-the-Hill".
That each wants "what the other has" has become the common view;
And, exploiting Earth's resources is now thought of as Man's "due".

To think that we can win this "game" makes US to be the "fool";
MAN must "adapt" -- or, he MUST "die" -- for this is Nature's RULE!

Comment:
The ONLY "problem" I can see with this "perspective" has to do with a "number".
When A-David first wrote this "perspective" -- on Cumulative Imbalance --
the world population was (I think?) still under 4 billion.

NOW ----- it is (I think) approaching 6 billion ??? ----- or more ?????
Does that mean I have to get after someone to keep "updating" this rhyme --
to keep up with the population growth (of humankind) on this --
tiny -- 3rd Rock from the Sun????
OH YES !!! ----- Another Comment......
Some have read this rhyme and -- immediately -- thought of it ONLY as
the words may apply to Planet Earth (and the GLOBAL "environmental system").As a little mental exercise, try applying the basic rhyme-concept to other "environments" --
including the home -- the classroom -- a business setting -- etc., etc. (I think you might
have a bit more fun with this rhyme IF you "play with it a bit").
