On "Cumulative Imbalance" . . . . . 

The POWER of "Persuasion" has been, since early times,
A "power" that the "mighty" have found to be sublime.

With "words" they set "perspectives" into THEIR form of "Law";
(And, when such "words" are backed with force, most never argue "flaw").

"I am your rightful ruler", said the caveman with the club;
(Of course, without a language, what he really said was "glub").

"I am your rightful ruler", said the Pharaoh to his minions,
"And -- as ruler of all Egypt -- only I shall have opinions".

"I am your rightful ruler", said the Emperor called Nero;
(Who thought himself to be a "god";  and, the world's greatest "hero").

As there are "haves" -- and the "have nots" -- in our society -----
Most children have been (quickly) taught: "I must take care of ME !"

So, misguided MAN has always had a common misconception
Of what "intrinsic value" means ----- and, what is "life's direction".

A historic concept, handed down, involves an "Ivory Tower" -----
Where "status and wealth is where it's at";  Security & Power !!

[ In modern times there's been a change, as "Conglomerates" gained power,
Most "rightful rulers"(?) now reside in an "Economic Tower" ]

But, what THEY "rule" is NOT "Mankind" (IF one is realistic),
As "Consuming Man" is now, in fact, a "marketing statistic".

Yet, to serve THEIR "rule" our numbers swell -- as we ravage land and sea --
Playing out a "systematic" role in the "game" called ----- G. N. P.

It seems as though most "leaders" have an instinctive "predilection"
To use the powers given them to build in one direction.

Up, UP and UP -- Big, Bigger, BIGGEST-- is the "keynote" of THEIR plans;
And, each defends his private "work" as a "Monument to Man".

The "ego-trips" of such as these create much social ill -----
For while THEY holler "progress", Mankind is standing still.

What value lies in THEIR reaching high is hard to understand,
When the "people" being used as "building blocks" become Life's "also-rans".

Our civilization's structure is like a "Tower of Sticks";
In building each, the "secret" lies in knowing when to quit.

But -- to date -- most "rulers"(?) still defy one Universal Law -----
NO "Tower" goes, forever, up ----- "imbalance" makes each fall!!!
