On the single root-cause of the Problems of Man

Whatever's the matter with this world of ours?

[ When THAT question is asked, the "wise" man cowers ]

( For trillions of "words" have already been used

By those who delight in expounding their views ).

But -- let's ask it again, in a different way;

For we DO have an interest in what you will say.

We would like you to tell (in one word IF you can)

The SINGLE "root-cause" of the problems of Man.

Some say that it's Envy;  some say that it's Need;

Still others propose that the "tap-root" is Greed.

So the "why" of this rhyme should be easy to see;

With these previous answers, WE cannot agree.

There IS a "root-cause" (of that, we are sure);

And when it is known, Man may then find a cure.

We think that the "psyche" holds the answer men seek --

An "answer" involving the strong and the meek.

When old ID is most happy -- and is having a ball --

Super-EGO shows up to spoil it all.

And, each time there's dispute between his two brothers,

EGO must side --------- with one (or, the other).

IF you check through your history, you may note (as we did)

The most common persuader of EGO is ID.

The one out in front cannot straddle the middle,

And, THAT is a "KEY" to Man's greatest "riddle".

  Relative to AHLEC's World, this rhyme represents a basic concept that (we feel)
needs special attention as a "teaching-learning tool".

However, rather than asking readers to try to figure-out AN "answer"
to Man's greatest riddle -- on their own -- we are going to provide our
reasoning (via the "looking-glass" called Environmental Logic) and,
let each reader agree --- or disagree --- as he (or she) may choose.
