Concluding Notes

The basic presentation of the S.U.A.B.C concept was constructed as a means of stimulating

a reader's imagination. These final notes are being set down for the same purpose.

In recent years, many have jumped onto the "Substance Abuse Bandwagon".

AND -- this, yet unresolved, "problem" of alcohol and drug abuse has

provided countless politicians with a "safe platform" on which

they can firmly stand while appealing for YOUR "vote".

It has provided writers, reporters, commentators, artists, and others with a -- virtually

unending -- source of material by means of which they have displayed their

professional talents and realized the corresponding benefits.

[ And -- for the general public -- it has become

a great "conversation piece" ]

BUT -----

this presentation asks the reader one final question:

How many -- IF any -- people (including yourself)

have you ever heard to, publicly, say ??? --

"Look at me ! I am a Special Person; and, I am part of the solution".

(meaning)

[ I do NOT need illegal drugs to be the best that I can be; I do NOT
need to misuse alcohol to "drown my sorrows" --- or, "have fun"
-- and, for sure, I never drive drunk -- or when I am impaired. ]

Wouldn't it be nice if every person "in charge" --

be it a politician -- world leader -- judge -- policeman --

fire-fighter -- parent -- teacher -- coach -- mentor -- cleric --

executive -- commentator -- and World Leader -- etc.

would publicly declare that he -- or she -- is a

Very Special Person who is willing to

Stand Up And Be Counted

and, thus, become a "Role Model" others may wish to emulate.

QUESTION:

Could we please start with just one ?????

(and maybe other leaders "would" follow??)

Lots of people display "stickers" -- "decals" -- and/or

"T-shirts" -- which say (most authoritatively).....

IF YOU drink, don't drive !!!

or that say ....

( YOU should) Just Say No ! (to illegal drugs).

But, NOT ONE of these "symbols" convey the message that the "owner" of

the symbol is willing to set a "personal example" for others to follow.

Obviously (?) most won't go running around shouting the words which

declare their personal "commitment" to solving the "problem" -----

SO ----- how does one identify the "good guys" from the "bad guys"???

This presentation suggests that -- with the right "symbol" to do their talking for them --

Leadership by Example (in theory) could be made easy -- via symbolic unification.

[ And, identification of those of like mind might, also, be possible]

Note:

( as a Special Person Symbol )

and

( as a Partner In Community )

AHLEC really "likes" to be "involved" -----

( which means -- regardless of which way you look at it -- )

there IS ( at least ) one -- "Volunteer" -- for the job ???

BUT -- it is up to YOU to put him to work --
