Expansion of the "Symbolic Unification" factor

In a world of unique individuals ( where everyone is "special" ), IF people are ever to

have a "sense of belonging to a world community" -- and IF they are ever to live,

work and play together -- in concord -- then it is imperative that they be

given basic "symbols" which can transcend their "differences".

[ The problems facing travelers and motorists were, instantly, eased by the creation --

and use -- of internationally recognized symbols and signs, etc. ]

Relative to a multi-cultural effort to resolve the problem of alcohol and drug

abuse -- which negatively affects ALL members of the world

community -- "symbolic unification" is critical.

S U A B C's "substance abuse control" program employs an enchanting

"Special Person Symbol" -- called AHLEC -- to provide symbolic

unification for those who wish to be "part of the solution";

AND, who want to encourage others to do the same.

This Special Person Symbol has been designed to spontaneously generate

a positive peer-level-group of children (and adults) who wish to live,

work and play in a drug-free society; and, who want to make

this desire known to others in a non-verbal -- non-

preaching -- and non-judgmental manner.

No other symbolic art-form, presently in use, compares with the

power of AHLEC to help a person say (non-verbally):

"Look at me -- I am a Special Person -- and, I do NOT need to use

illegal drugs (or get drunk) to be the best I can be".

In S U A B C 's program (combining "awareness" AND "action") .....

a Very Special Person is defined as:

	One who has become "aware" that he (or she) is, in fact, a "special person"
	-- and has come to appreciate the fact that every else is, also, "special.

	*One who has become "aware" of the problem* of alcohol and drug abuse --**
	and its negative effect on the quality of human existence.

	*One who has become "aware" of the need to accept personal* responsibility**
	*for finding a "solution" -- AND, for being an on-going "part of the solution".*

	*One who has made a personal* "commitment" to convert his -- (or her) --**
	new-found "awareness" into positive "action" -- and who, as a result,
	is now personally taking part in implementing the "solution". And,

	*One who has become personally* "involved" in the process of "Leadership**
	by Example" so that other "special persons" will be able to actually see
	*what is meant by the "words"----- being* "part of the solution".**
