AHLEC's Mandate

In creating AHLEC’s Journey, the Emerald Trust’s mandate includes the following:

Help children function more effectively -- in the home -- in the classroom -- on the playing field -- and elsewhere in society

by providing them with unique “coping tools" that encourage behavior modification which, in turn,

will allow these children to enjoy more productive and rewarding lives.

Expansion of the original Mandate ..... using Environmental Logic

It is intended that these “tools” be introduced to children -- via parents, teachers, coaches, mentors, et al –

who can also provide - (often one child at a time) - the ongoing guidance needed

to help children become the best they can be, each in accordance

with his or her own inherent creative potential.

As the world-population continues to increase -- and as social and environmental issues become accordingly

more complex -- it is critical that children be given a “solid basis” for coping with the effect of these

socio-economic-environmental changes in their own lives -- while helping others do the same.

However, it is even more critical that this same "solid base" be provided to children (and adults) -- worldwide --

so a bridge of TRUST can be built to span existing chasms of ignorance and human differences.

These are chasms which keep individual members of the species from "collectively"

bringing about the positive changes needed, NOW, to ensure a

sustainable future for the next generations of humankind.

AHLEC -- as a universal Special Person Symbol --

was specifically created as a teaching/learning "tool" --

for global use in building that bridge of TRUST.

The “process” of putting AHLEC (and his other tools) to work is fairly simple -- BUT –

one element critical to AHLEC making a difference -- is CONSTANCY,

which begins with a child (or adult) receiving affirmation – each

and every day – as to “who” and “what” he (or she) IS.

For AHLEC’s Journey -- affirmation is provided via a universal “message” that begins:

YOU are a “Special Person”

( the actual message presentation is even a wee bit more intriguing )

"who" you are ( regardless of language ) is defined by the first word ----- "YOU".

"what" you are ( regardless of language ) is defined by the term: “Special Person”.

The viability of this “tool” is enhanced by the fact that a child is not saying “I am"……rather the

AHLEC “twins” are saying: "YOU are".....and ( for a child ) that makes a big difference.
